Restarted the Redding, CA monitoring station formerly ID 1:54503030.3 which had an issue with cross-linked data with another station with the same ID.

Using a GQ200 Geiger counter which is mounted indoors about 2' from an outside wall and is monitoring the outside air through a 1/2" diameter duct and low velocity 1" fan attached to a clear plastic outer case/shroud that encloses the Geiger counter.

Have you considered using a filter to suck the air through? This would trap radiation and allow for easier detection of rises.

Hi KC, I am currently using Ionic Breeze type filters, 4 in my repair shop and 3 in the living room. They are cleaned once per week using a damp paper towel. After cleaning I expose them to my Radalert Inspector and almost always the response is at least double the normal background of 15 CPM. Is there a type of filter that you would recommend? Please see the attached photo of my counter which sits on my desk right in back of my workstation monitor. I have the cover removed in order to catch any alpha emitters that come down the pipe.

Your filters might work great, I use HEPA filters. As for leaving your cover off to detect alpha radiation, the GMC-200 does not detect alpha. The great thing about the radiation we will likely detect will be all types alpha, beta & gamma.
