This station is situated in the hills outside Lismore, NSW (Australia) in a 3ac clearing surrounded by rainforest:

It is powered by its own 40watt stand alone solar system and is positioned 2m above the ground, under the ample eave of my storage shed. ~50m from the house.
The monitor used is a microprocessor (Arduino platform) controlled DIY kit geiger counter calibrated to a single Russian Si-180g gamma tube.
Located to one side to the monitor is a gammascout fitted with a Russian Si-29bg beta/gamma tube. The data from this is used to verify data from the main monitor, and another monitor logging at the house.
The rain here is usually heavily laiden with Radon progeny, and this stands out as a feature in the data recorded here over the last 18 months .

Today (1st December) is the first day the station is complete, tested and in its permanent position. I have reset the data due to glitches encountered during setup.

Lismore station is offline today for the purpose of upgrading. I decided to add a bluetooth module to the GC in order to keep a copy of my data on site. The bluetooth module will be logging to the same mobile phone that provides the data connection to netc.

Station down today due to insect attack! The LED on my backup power supply attracted a tiny moth to the exact wrong place in the circuit which caused some wires to meltdown and a small explosion. No fire luckily. I'll be working on repairs today...

It's a bit funny, and it's a bit of a pain in the butt.
Repairs are now complete and the insect entry point has been sealed....bloody insects...
