I just now looked at the graph and not only did that EPA gamma station reach the 1001 CPM that you mentioned but it is a record high for that station. According to NETC records for that station, the first recorded readings for that station are August of 2012. Until this 1001 CPM reading on August 31st of 2015, there have been
NO HIGHER readings recorded.
Your concern is very warranted, because as you know I am sure... most EPA gamma stations never have record a 1000 CPM or higher.
