HOWDY ALL (letter)

Let me encourage you all to read your Bible.  I know we're all 
STRONG King James Only folks around here-- we believe the KJV 
is the inerrant, preserved, inspired Word of God for 
English-speaking people-- but you can believe in the KJV-Only 
position ALL DAY LONG, and it will do you (or others) NO GOOD, 
unless you get God's Word into your heart by reading it.

If you will read only THREE chapters of your Bible per day, you 
can complete the entire Bible, Old and New Testaments, in ONE 
YEAR's time!  That's about fifteen minutes of reading time for 
the average reader.  Is that too much for God to ask of you?  I 
don't think so.

Many of us can do even more than that.  That's the absolute 
minimum daily requirement for a baby Christian to survive 
spiritually.  If you want to go on to a higher plain, perhaps 
you can promise God to read His Word for ONE HOUR per day.  At 
that rate, you could read the Bible through every three months.

Luke 4:4  And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That 
man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Eph 6:17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of 
the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Heb 4:12  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and 
sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing 
asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, 
and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Countless number of Christians have DIED in defense of the 
Bible.  How would it be if we were to count their efforts 
and sacrifice as though it had no value?  What would Elijah 
think of today's Christians?  What would John the Baptist 
think of our scripture-reading habits today?  Better yet, 
what would the Lord Jesus Christ think of us?

We have an almost casual attitude towards the Holy Bible.  Oh, 
if we were to realize what we have!!  The WORDS of ALMIGHTY 
GOD!!!  Think about it!  Read it!  Then, act upon it.
