it's true that radon decays quickly. but so does I-131 not that it's a problem right now but you need to get into the habit "just in case". I agree with KC that this is probably not a problem at this time but be prepared and get into the habit now as it could happen at any time... Best too...

Anytime is good, when you have a question post it and "walk away" until someone answers ya. No prob as I (and many others) keep a good eye on this site, but the time lapse is mostly certain (may take a while)... If we are online at the same time you'll get it quick, if not it may be a few....

PS: If you send a piece of a ac filter place it in a plastic bag and carefully cut a piece (through the bag leaving the plastic bag pieces covering the sample) and place it in a padded envelope with the plastic bag pieces you cut through still covering the sample.... Gloves and a mask should be used...

Did you send them a car or home ac or purifier filter? You can simply cut a piece of a ac filter (using precautions) to the size of a padded envelope to send it without having to send the whole thing.
