Station ID: 1:D144BA4A.28
City: Belvidere
State: Illinois
Zip: 61008
Geiger Brand/Model: GQ GMC-200
Location: Inside house on 1st floor facing the sky

As seen in the map below, the blue marker is where the geiger counter station is located. The red markers show the nuclear power plants in the area. On the left you see the list of the nuclear plants in the area and how far away they are from the (blue marker) geiger counter. The numbers seperated by a comma next to the name of the nuclear power plants is the plants reactor. For example the Byron Nuclear Plant has two reactors named unit 1 and unit 2.

The dark red circle shows a 10-mile radius, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission says the air could be unsafe to breathe in the event of a major catastrophe. The light red circle shows a 50 mile radius, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission says the food and water supplies may be unsafe in the event of a major catastrophe. Who are they kidding? Anyone who knows anything about Fukushima knows that it would be much more wide spread than what the NRC wants us to believe.

I am sorry to say that the Windows computer that was running this station has died.

Until this laptop is replaced, ìt will obviously remain offline.

It's a little... daft to draw a circle around a NPP and say "This is the line". There's no such thing as a circular plume!

I agree, we can see that using the NETC "absolute" feature while looking at the Fukushima Japan map. The NRC dictated the use of the 10 & 50 mile nuclear power plant accident radius map, not me. It is merely a "better than nothing" map and serves my purpose of well for an illustration of where this radiation monitoring site is located with the nearest NPP's.

No worries, I did not take it that way at all. I always try to reply with comments meant to help educate someone new reading the information. I felt the background information was important to point out for their benefit.
