I see the chart is fixed, tell me if you have anymore problems and the dates.

Thanks hey, though we may be thinking of different data periods. The suspect data I am referring to is on Feb 4th, ~8:00am to ~1:00pm.
In future, how is the best way to contact you for type of issue?

Some hot rain arrived this morning and my stations internet provider pulled my connection, so.... I guess I need to sort that out before the station is back online. :|

....back on line now. Turned out to be a network problem, and my paranoia turned out to be simple paranoia...

We has some good rain here last night....well, it was good to have the rain but not so good for it to be loaded with radon fallout. This was the largest free air detection recorded here in ~3 years I've been recording here.
See the NETC station chart here - http://netc.com/chart/view.php?n=1%3AE05D4947

All the other chart spikes over the last few months were also washout events, but pale in comparison to last night.

Recently, my netc station chart has gone to the dogs because of power supply problems. These power supply problems have been caused by the addition of another radiation monitor ( http://radmon.org/, Lismore, Australia station ) to the same solar power system that's running my netc monitor, and there was simply not enough power to run both...so I added a 200 watt solar panel plus a 120Ah battery and hopefully this has sorted out the problem.

Sounds good, mate.

Add another deep cycle battery and you can run a small (100w) ham radio station with that setup!..

Glad you are getting some rains -- been a long time for many areas down your way.

Good 'ay..

Today's lismore station alerts are false readings - I had the lid off the unit's container today and think there's been another insect incursion. I'll check it over in the morning.....

Why?

...is my question.

They are indeed a wonderful tool in an emergency situation.
But not many people got 'em.

IME, most hams are older than dirt... with all the baggage.
(Sry guys... I know it, and you do too.)
They are among the most helpful people out there.
And ALWAYS willing to help young people interested in radio!!!
Because young people, ARE NOT.
They are happy with a cell phone, which may go down in a crisis, of any kind!

So, .. Why??

90%+ of ham QSO's are signal report, WX conditions, and perhaps some discussion of the radio gear used... rig, antenna, amplifier, etc. That's it. Bye-bye.

Is that what you would like to spend a serious chunk of money on?

The knowledge and skills you will learn in ham radio are unique, and I would never discourage anyone if learning is their intent.

Spend a serious amount of time with hams in your area before making a decision.
..What bands are effective in your area for skip, if that's what you wish to do... and which countries come in, at your location??? Could be speaking some foreign language. ...and they will know just enough of your language so they may log a QST with your station! lol

Good luck
rc

Yes, I've got a pile of radio gear bought at 50cents on the dollar and I doubt I could get 20cents for it today.
