yes, it all matched up. Ok, I won't swap them out next time and wait for instruction further. Just seemed odd that one unit reads very high and the other is well within usual readings and they are sitting right next to each other. Good info on the jet stream. thx.

The most recent EPA gamma stations show a rise to the East and the MI outside NETC station shows a small rise. Since you do confirm that your geiger counter matched what NETC receorded on your chart, if the reading was false it would be the geiger tube but because of how it looks with the rise and fall... I believe it was likely real.

How close did you manage to get your second geiger counter to the first unit to compare?

Did you put the bottom of your 2nd geiger counter right next to the bottom of the 1st geiger counter?

I ask this because in the GMC-3xx model I know the geiger tube is located at the bottom of the geiger counter and you want to get that as close to the other to compare.

I laid it flat on the table with display facing up so the bottom tube was exposed to the incoming airflow as close as possibly I could get it to the filtration system. I couldn't put it next to the bottom of the other counter because it is actually upside down inserted into the Holmes filtration system so the tube is as close to the middle of the hepa filter as possible.
