Hi. I am very new at this. I need to set up two monitors in the St. Louis area. I will be sending my details to

We have situation(s) here in our great city!

A radioactive landfill with an underground fire - Westlake Landfill is a dire emergency for the entire area.

Coldwater Creek in North County, Missouri

This entire region has been contaminated with waste generated by Mallinckrodt's processing of uranium during the Manhattan Project / development of the atomic bomb. You can read the area's history on What has been done at Coldwater Creek is done... but all secrets are boiling to the surface in the landfill.

So many things are happening here at such a swift pace it is hard to sum everything up in a brief manner for this post.

Thank you for having this forum!

We are very much aware of St. Louis and NETC owner took a road trip there in 2013 to do some testing outside the radioactive dump fire.

We all welcome you efforts to help us monitor this never ending nightmare.

Hello, I'm new/first post. I'm close (upwind) to WLLF and been to some of the meetings, in particular the earlier ones involving the ridiculous EPA "declared safe" claims, made by a small aircraft flying over the fill measuring for gamma (only). Some progress has been made but the lack of concern among the populace, not including the thousands of ppl with various cancers ...has been a significant source of distress for me. That said, I'm glad I found this site. I have 2 pancake Geiger counters, one which I can use as a perma station (the other I like to carry around for spot readings). I've tried other sites /w similar goals- ala crowdsourced rad-data and have found the communication poor and at times flat out a very high cost to broadcast info which for all intents should be free- proffering a dedicated Geiger+Laptop+band width is costly!

Anyway, my point isn't to complain- just a little needed venting after some years of frustration.

Back on topic- I'll be reading posts here to figure out how to get up a feed, what kind of software is needed and all those goodies.

Very cool! after I get setup, STL area having 4 monitors! I'll be using a PRM-9000 for the station, the "always on"/great battery life makes it the better of the two for station purposes.

To the other STL resident: Hello! You're the first person I've come across who's into this stuff. It's a good feeling.

Thanks All...
