I really would like to know the background information on this EPA gamma station. What is the reason for readings in one range for 6 years straight to abruptly change so much? See chart here: http://netc.com/chart/view.php?n=5%3A406

Have you check it out on Radnet system of the EPA database?

Radnet shows the same behavior across all Gamma ranges. I have made the following inquiry to the EPA using the 'Contact us' link at Radnet. Quote: Hello: The Miami Gamma station shows a large drop between April 14 and 15. Before the 14th, that station seemed to climb steadily since early 2015 after a 5 month outage. Were these changes due to the environment or the equipment? Thank You I will post their reply.

The EPA responded with: Quote: Thank you for contacting EPA.
Variation in count rates at one site over time are common and may reflect changes in instrumentation. Your observations are consistent with changes in instrumentation as part of maintenance activities conducted April 14-15 at the Miami station.
Radiation Protection Division
So the drop was due to maintenance.

I think...
Maintenance = Recalibrate = Cover-Up
