I seen this posted today on Facebook, it's worth keeping an eye on. Who knows how much radiation from Fukushima and such could be displaced with recent fires in Canada.

I am not sure if my current spike is related or not to this smoke warning. Looks like the Windows will stay closed today & the family will stay inside. It sure is nice having my own radiation monitoring station!

WoW!!! May have even found the reason for the spikes on may 24th as well.

Wildfires will "re-mobilize" many forms of pollution / radiation absorbed (and sequestered) in plants. We've even witnessed mercury from factories and coal fired power plants being sent back into the air and dispersed over large areas during wildfires.

Beta stations will pick up this material and the rises ARE legitimate readings.

Be cautious during haze events as the smoke will contain all kinds of pollution absorbed by the forest (sometimes over many years).

Keep windows closed and don't exercise outside during these events.

Here's more on the current situation:

Hopefully the jet stream will cooperate and give you some relief soon.
