I recently heard that the open pits holding fracking waste, some of that radioactive, washed away with their recent flooding. Sorry no time to research it myself, just thought I would share what I just heard from a friend. Please post any information to confirm it, thanks in advance.

Anti-fracking activists say the industry needs to account for what types of chemicals may be contaminating soil and groundwater in the area around these wells.

The concentration of oil and gas wells in flood-prone areas speaks to one more risk of what they see as a dangerous industry.

Regulators say they agree these well sites could pose a contamination risk, and they will get out to assess the damage as soon as it's feasible.

Yeah, ^^^^ freaking me out a bit. We were supposed to be out of here already. They don't seem too worried about contamination here :( The first I heard about the fracking chemicals and oil in the brew was off of a few blogs... not from the local news as it should be.
