Over a year ago I replaced all the standard light bulbs in my house with LEDs. Well all the lights that are used the most, just in the bathrooms alone there are 10 LEDs. My parents replaced all the bulbs in their house over a year ago and swear that they are saving over $30 per month on their electric bill.
A simple way to protest nuclear power can be buying LED light bulbs. My first LED light bulb was purchased over 10 years ago online when the local hardware stores had never heard of LED light bulbs. Today that same LED bulb is still working. I put it in the outside fixture on the side of our garage and just leave it run 24/7 because it uses so little. In fact, I own 20+ LED bulbs and to date none of them have ever burned out.
Do not be scared to try them! Do not let the price of them scare you, many of them are worth it. Please go out and buy several different brands and try them out. Take them home and test them in different rooms to see what ones work well for you and which one might not. Remember most stores will gladly take them back for a full refund if you do not like them.
