Why does it seem as if the entire united states is "lit up" with radiation?!

Probably because it is. Jet Stream, wind, snow, rain bring all the good radiation across our fine land. Take a deep breathe and enjoy those wonderful radionuclides.

Here is what I want to know. I cannot get a straight answer from the EPA, FB Posts, Conspiracy Website Threads, etc., etc.

Can anyone tell me what levels of Gamma Radiation measured as CPM of Gamma in energy range 600-800keV is bad?
What I know is, that since March of 2011, most of the northern hemisphere's CPM's in Gamma have doubled.
I understand a lot of CPM counts have to do with radon and background radiation and geigers are calibrated and measure different types of radiation, BUT, how do I determine what actual CPM number is bad based on these EPA Station readings of gamma in the 600-800 Kev range?

Wanna know what I think? That no one can answer because the levels are deadly. Its not gonna be cancer in 5-10 years as we are in day what, 1005 of FUCKU, cancer is already here, people are being diagnosed daily and kids all across the country are having sudden cardiac events.

Experts can not agree on what is a "safe" level of radiation. I am not sure if you want to go by the new government standard or the old government standard. Obviously if the experts can't agree, surely NETC can not tell anyone what a "safe" level of radiation is. U.S. experts seem to agree that less radiation is best.

The NETC RADCON levels need to be used as marker levels to show a rise in radiation. Each radiation monitoring station has different NORM levels which are calculated each day using that stations previous data. There are many factors that contribute to higher or lower levels of radiation for different areas, both natural and man-made radiation.

I believe nobody in the U.S. will be able to reach the low levels of radiation that they want. The name of the game is radiation mitigation. I believe the best way to decide for yourself what the safest level in your area is by having your own geiger counter station. With a GMC-200 $85 from GQ Electronics and the FREE Windows software from NETC, you can do it. If that is not an option, you can review the EPA beta & gamma sites off NETC to see what the previous data shows and decide from that what is normal for your area. Viewing that data through NETC does require a yearly $19.95 Chart Membership fee that helps support network bandwidth costs and new features. I should warn you that the EPA data at times can be real-time, but at other times it is delayed by 6 hours or more. This is a result of delays from the EPA's network, not NETC.

As you can see, the most reliable data is your own. My unit is outside with the GMC-200 geiger counter on the intake of a HEPA air purifier unit. This assists me in better detection as radiation is trapped in the filter. If you plan on having a station of your own inside the house, I suggest having the GMC-300E or 320. With either of those two units, if the power went out you would still have the units display screen to view the current readings and it would continue to record the data so when the power is restored all that data will be unloaded to NETC. The GMC-200 has no display screen or internal memory, but is durable and cost less than the others so it makes a great unit for outside.

I have 2 geiger counters an live in Sacramento Ca, an am getting counts nowhere near what the station on your map is getting!!! i could if i set my bits per second wrong on the port settings. so i believe people are setting their ports up wrong, an getting wrong readings.......

The EPA gamma stations are using scintillation counters, not geiger counters and this is why the CPM are higher than your geiger counters. It is because their device is more sensitive. In fact, some geiger counters like the pancake GM tube kind (InspectorEXP like mine) get a higher CPM than other less sensitive geiger counters, all off the same radiation source.

This is a good thread on this forum that explains more about the EPA gamma stations.
