Thank you!
I will send him a note and hope we can get together on this. I wonder if the site that used to report (a block away from my place) was his? Will find out, I'm sure.

Oh, meant to say: the g/c I purchased is a
GMC-320 (plus)
Of course, the cd that came with mine was blank! C'est la vie.
So when I say I have a small g/c, I mean I have a small g/c. Who knows? Perhaps we can retrofit it into something better?
Usual CPM is about 20, inside of my place, and 60 to 70, in my indoors garden! Whacky. We'll figure something out. (Am sure the site was Mike's and he lives or works very close to me, though.)

Haha (size of yr equip..)
Thanks for the reminder on uploading software. I was waiting for them to post the program(s) on the site. Will get it all together, manana.
Then I shall make up a name of my read/site and will sign it up here. Will be nice to be able to give back, even if only info, to others.

Yea so you can download the free software or

FOR A BETTER RIG....

Check out the Pi/GC package below...

Comes with a new counter and a small box (pi) so you don't even need your computer (or your current counter) to send data.

Mine works great (for 2 years now) even after power outages and internet probs. it recovers by itself!

Didn't have to do anything but give it access to my wireless router.

Just depends on your budget but I think this is the way to go. Great price too!

Let me know if you need anything and contact me when you talk to Mike or if you need help!!!!

Oh yea and by the way, you may want to take a look at this one...

Thanks!
I have the gmc set-up on this laptop (my personal laptop) and am thinking of adding the second (business) laptop onto it (sez I can add 2 computers and think I will). This way, I'll have only one tied-up and it won't be the one i use all the time.
But, I may need someone to help walk me through this (linking to netc). I will have to get readings per-day, per-hour, as I only have one window & cannot leave it open all the time or with this system.
Is there a good time of day to read/log/post?
Honestly; I don't know a lot about this, but if it was a mechanical thing, I'd be a wiz! It isn't. Or I am confusing myself over nothing?

Anytime is good, when you have a question post it and "walk away" until someone answers ya. No prob as I (and many others) keep a good eye on this site, but the time lapse is mostly certain (may take a while)...

If we are online at the same time you'll get it quick, if not it may be a few...

I'll help in any way I can!

REMEMBER that you need the counter close to the floor for the best reads indoors, don't put it on a window sill as the sun will effect the reads and close to the floor is always the highest reading in any room. Just place it behind your desk on the floor (in a spot where it doesn't get kicked) a couple of inches from anything. Believe it or not that's the best place for you to get the highest reads in your room (any room)...

Don't even clean around it...

...it'll work well AND it's all good.

Placement is key on a GM, close to the floor and out of the sun is a must...

...ya wouldn't think so but it's true.

Let me know when you get your station going!!!

And tell em I said hey (makes me want too play music on 6th street again)...

https://youtu.be/2kvfc-3h3u0

Later... And I'll help anytime!!!

If you put your geiger counter on the floor, please know that stone flooring will have higher readings and granite counter tops too. They are both naturally radioactive.

Here is a great link to have a better idea of what sources in your house might be setting off your geiger counter and why. Be prepared to be shocked by what you read herein: https://www.orau.org/ptp/collection/consumer%20products/consumer.htm

We'll see base reads after a few days...

And definitely describe the location of the unit ie: behind desk on a (ever so slightly) radioactive floor...
