I am travelling from my home in Grande Prairie, Alberta to central/southern Nevada. I'm taking along my "MyGeiger" with STS-5 Geiger tube. One of the things I like to do when I am down there is check out old abandoned mines (NEVER go inside!). Being Nevada, I am a little worried about "hot spots" from the nuke testing at the NTS. I will update this thread with any significant reading on my roadtrip.

You will be fine, Foster.
Maybe kinda good to stay out of dust storms and such... Mines are ok, but watch the floor... if there is loose rock on the floor surface, it's an indication the overhead is not stable. be very cautious if unstable! rc
