I've been paying attention to Fukushima disaster and current news about increased radioactive release from reactor 3. I have yet to purchase my own radiation detector, but have been checking the readings on netc.com site for SF. Ever since checking your site the readings have been consistently above 200CPM and are currently around 300 CPM. How do interpret this number and how much of this is just background radiation? What is normal and what is normal for SF?
Different equipment has different reading. Netc.com tells the Norm background radiation and the current radiation level when you click on the station.

I saw the recent youtube video of the guy on the beach in Pacifica where the detector was hitting above 100CPM and the alarm was going off. Is this reading different from what's being detected at the SF station?
Same answer, different equipment
