It should be no surprise that the IAEA supports using an outside air filter system for better airborne detections. After all we know the EPA stations use filters.

This just helps to support what I have done using a HEPA filter air purifier outside with a geiger counter on the face of the intake filter which allows for better detection of the airborne radiation particles.

Please see section 5.2.1.

Would just blowing air from like a PC fan across your geiger counter achieve the same affects?

No, the filter holds the radioactive material so that the Geiger counter can pick it up.

Netc.com uses this air filter unit because of price and ease of replacement of the filter. I can not find it anyway but Walmart for the cheapest price. $15 and $7 for the filter.

There are other units too, but more expense.
