For the 2nd time in about a month I've had increased activity when the Jetstream dipped down over Oklahoma. This time I got a screenshot of the Jetstream.

Here's the previous spike that I observed September 12th 2015 when the Jetstream dipped but I don't have a screenshot of the Jetstream.

Do you have your Pi setup to alert you voice with the readings over a certain count per minute? I do and this is very helpful to not unknowingly decide to hang out outside during higher than normal periods. On a side note, I really like your selection of wind map. http://earth.nullschool.net/ which also works really well right now for watching the current hurricane Joaquin move. People in the U.S. on the East Coast should prepare now just in case it hits them.

I actually don't know how to do that. Does the Pi have to be connected to speakers or do you have it contact a PC on the network to send the Alert.
And speaking of alerts, I don't get my text alerts from NETC anymore. Anyone else having an issue with text/email alerts from NETC?

Your Pi has an IP address that when using it in your computer browser, you can access a control panel of features. One of those features allows you to set the Pi alerts and at whatever level you want. You can then connect speakers to the Pi, like I have done. Another useful feature is the timed mute. I have mine mute from 10pm - 9am so it does not bother the neighbors while they are sleeping. As for the email alerts, I have not noticed. I used my wife's cellphone number so I don't hear about the text alerts anyway. She always seems to forget to tell me.

I was unable to independently confirm these spikes so I replaced the GMC-200 Geiger counter this morning at 9:AM CST. The ziploc bag had become brittle and was no longer able to keep moisture off the unit. I plan on inspecting and refurbishing that device. I'll report my findings when I have time.

I can't remember if you have a pancake geiger counter or not. When I question my readings, I use my InspectorEXP pancake style geiger counter as close to the filter as possible to verify elevated readings. I have several GMC-200 units so I too can easily try a replacement if need. Thanks again for all of your updates.

I do have a pancake survey meter that's my best unit and I have a CD beta meter with the wand. But at the time I was in a hurry and didn't get it. I used my GMC-300E to try and get a confirmation reading. When I pulled the 200 off the filter it continued high counts. I pulled the power for about a minute then plugged it back in. The clicks went back to baseline. So either there was a particle stuck to it that fell off or more likely there's dust or corrosion built up in there. Should know more when I crack it open.

I have noticed before that if there is a bad data connection (dirty/dusty/loose) that it causes a false spike. This can also happen when your moving the unit around when it's still connected and sending data. It often only spikes one of the 3 graphs, which makes it easy to spot. Let me go zoom in on your graph and look...
[EDIT] I just looked at your graph and some (but not all) show a red graph pattern that does not have a matching blue & green graph pattern. I suspect those likely are false readings but some others appear to be real. You could always setup a 2nd unit outside and run the side by side 24/7 and replace the filters at the same time too which would give you real-time confirmation. I thankfully have another NETC member with a station setup like mine nearby (St. Charles, Illinois) that I often see the same readings as mine for confirmation. If you wish, once you have read these posts by me within your "station log/blog" please feel free to PM me asking for me to delete (my posts & your replies) to keep your station log/blog thread clean
